35 bags of Carolina Rice, 11 Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Flavor Packets, 4 Diet Cokes, 4 bottles of Powerade Zero, 2 containers of Soy Milk, 1 Toothbrush, 1 tube of Colgate kid’s Toothpaste, 4 (24 count) bottles of Advil, 1 travel Advil, 5 Poise products, 1 Herbal Essences Shampoo, 4 bottle of Purex laundry detergent and 1 bottle of Clorox Bleach…original price $122.39, after coupons…$7.28.
While this particular couponing haul is not one of my biggest hauls (my biggest hauls can be seen on my Facebook page), I decided to post this anyways because it is a good teaching example.
My actual total for this order was $4.28, however, I spent $3 when using a coupon-clipping service to get more of the rice coupons so I added that into my total so you can see what I actually paid. While I don’t use coupon-clipping services all that much, it does come in handy sometimes.
So here’s how I bought everything:
The Carolina rice products were .79 cents. I had coupons for .50 cents off 1. The coupon doubled to the amount of the item making it free.
The Duncan Hines Frosting Creations Flavor Packets were .99 cent. I had coupons for $1 off (which gets manually taken down to .99 cents) as well as some free product coupons. You can currently find the $1 off coupons for these on Duncan Hine’s website.
The Diet Cokes and Powerades were purchased with free product coupons that I got from MyCokeRewards.com. Save your caps and enter the codes, it’s worth it!
The Soy Milk was $1.59 each. I had 2 $1 off manufacturer’s coupons which I got from West Soy’s website (coupons still available) and I also had a store coupon for .75 cents off 2 (remember you can combine store and MFR coupons but you can never use 2 MFR coupons on 1 item) so $1.59 x 2= 3.18 – (2) $1 off MFR coupons = 1.18 – .75 off 2 store coupon = .43 cents for both soy milks.
The Toothbrush and Toothpaste were both .99 cents. I has a .50 off coupon for each item which I got by calling Colgate-Palmolive. The coupons doubles to the price of the item making them free.
The 24-count Advil was $3.49 and the trial size was $2.49, I believe. I called Pfizer which makes Advil and they sent me out 5 $3 off any item coupons (didn’t exclude trial size) which I used to buy the Advil products.
The Poise products were $2.99. I had coupons for $3 off any Poise item making them free.
The Herbal Essences Shampoo was $4.99 and was bought with a free product coupon.
The Purex was on sale 4 for $6. I had (4) .50 cents off coupons which I got from Purex’s website as an Earth Day promotion. I am not sure if the coupon is still available. All four coupons doubled to $1, making each bottle of laundry detergent only .50 cents each.
And Finally, the Clorox Bleach was on sale for $1.77, I believe. I had a .50 cents off coupon (which I got on Clorox’s website) which doubled to $1, plus I had a store coupon for $1 any Home Cleaning Product.
